There looks like theirs a new power house in the league, and it's that team from Queens ( East River Rats). Even though the season is only 3 games old they look like a well rounded team. Lead by team Captain Goalie D. McAdams, only giving up two goals in the 3 games he played. The Season is still young, but they look like the team to beat.

Game 1 A Division Finals: The Ugly Mugs came out flying and on a mission in the first period of Game 1 against the East River Rats. Coming out as strong as they did they put the ERR in a 2-0 hole after one period of play. But the ERR never lose their focus as they haven't lost it all season long and score a quick goal to open up the second period. 5 minutes later M. Byrne 99 buries another to knot the score at 2. The Mugs don't hesitate to panic and T. Galligan 21 comes down the wing and slips one by to regain the one goal lead for the Mugs. But with time winding down under a minute to go in period two ERR strike again to tie the game as they pounce on a loose puck in front of the net and send it in. The game now tied again, this time at 3 we head into period 3. Both teams came out strong in the third and applied equal amounts of pressure on each other for some back and forth non stop action, while both goalies answered. But with less then 5 minutes remaining league leading scorer K. Meilak 57 comes over the line and takes a blast from a sharp angle to beat the goal keep. The goal holds up to be the winner in a great opening to the A Division Finals. The ERR have a chance to close out the series and complete a perfect season this Thursday night.

A Division Finals: East River Rats Win the Cup!! The East River Rats Win the Cup!! Doing it in dramatic fashion the game proved to be a great one that Gretzky would be proud of. From the drop of the puck these two teams went at it like two pitbulls at an underground dog fight, totaling 10 penalties in a finals match. The ERR came out and opened the scoring from league leading scorer K. Meilak 57 only 5 minutes into play. As the two teams went at it the Ugly Mugs come right back and we were even at one after one. The Mugs continue to apply pressure in the second and T. Galligan 21 does it again with a sweet move on his second goal of the game giving the Ugly Mugs a 2-1 lead. The two Big Dogs proved their bite was bigger than their bark when ERR N. Dimoulas 92 strikes to tie the score at two and Finnish off the teams period strong. As we entered the 3rd both teams kept at it back and forth and it was something to watch, but both goalies said no! As both goalies came up big the third period stayed scoreless and tied at two. We move to overtime, something the East River Rats never saw all season long. Would the pressure get to them? As the overtime would unravel we would get an answer. The Over time was great both teams getting great chances but both couldn't seal the deal until 10 minutes through the OT when an unlikely hero struck. Nick DiVittorio 13 pounced on a loose puck in front of the net and flipped it over the goalies shoulder for the Winner! It was his first goal all season long. The ERR mob their hero and take the victory. The ERR stay Perfect! Going 13-0 on the season we can now call them the Miami Dolphins of Kings Bay. Hats off to the Ugly Mugs who played a great series and played well enough to win, with both games only being decided by a goal. A Great Series in a Kings Bay Classic, East River Rats lift the cup!

In the A Elite the East River Rats go up 1-0 in the best of three series against the Unit as it looked like they had an answer for the ERR with a 2-2-1 in zone trap after a scoreless first. The Unit's short bench showed the rest of the way as the ERR broke through the trap and scored three goals in the second and finnish off the game with a 3-0 win. That's 24-24 and if they can get the big 25 next week it'll set them up with a meeting with Marine Park (A) in the finals.
