Kings Bay Hockey Update! 7/3
Opening day in the Bay of the summer league was
a good one seeing new faces on different teams as
team captains made moves in the off season.
Last seasons Eastern Division champion Shooting
Blanks came out strong in their opener putting
up ten while giving up none solidifying their team
with the pickup of playoff MVP goalie A. Manno getting
the shut out in his new threads. E DeMaio put up
a hat-trick and added an assist for his Beach
Bar Boys as the Boys put in a solid
effort getting in the win column. The Aeros
and Plow Kings took a 2-2 tie late into
the third with Aeros P. Napoli breaking the
tie with just 2:05 remaining which held up to be
the game winner. Marine Park gets an OT winner
off A. Morozov stick finishing off his hat-trick
just eleven seconds into the extra session opening
the Parks season with two points. Two more
teams added to the BIG B Bergen Beach confirmed
a spot as so did a new team going by the name of
the Cincinnati Bowties. Both teams will be
scheduled to play two games next week. Standings,
team stats and more will be updated later in the
day. Team Captains please get us your updated rosters
so we can set up team pages. 6/29 BIG B Week
1 Schedule posted. As of today there are eight
teams confirmed for the BIG B Division. The
teams are as follows, Aeros, Beach Bar
Boys, Gerritsen Beach, Gravesend,
Marine Park, Reapers, Plow Kings
and the Shooting Blanks. As of now we don't
have enough sign-ups to make a house team but if
we get any more late additions we'll keep the individual's
posted. The A Division will be on hold due
to most of the A Teams taking the summer
off and the current season of the A Division
not being completed yet. The two teams are having
trouble agreeing on a date to play and we'll get
it worked out soon.
