6/17/10 At the young age of 46
Bay Brewery goal keep Steve Balsan becomes the first to
do so for his own team. Nailing down a shut out in draft
play which isn't an easy task to ask. Earlier in the season
Mike Sora was the first to accomplish the feat as he was
filling in for another teams absent goalie, but Steve officially
becomes the first goalie to do it for his own squad. Steve
said he was more happy getting his team the two points and
back to .500 but couldn't help to think about the shut out
with eight minutes left to play. Just another page to add
to his Kings Bay resume as he also boasts two Draft Cup
appearances and one Cup title. He also leads all goalies
this season in goals against average.
